The Psalms are full of God's praises. Before all else, we were made to glorify Him. It is with that understanding, that we bring worship events to your church with notables such as John Elefante, John Schlitt, Bread of Stone, Ninth Hour, Dry Bones band, Lori Harris and more. Led by Ellis and Peggi Lucas, His Heart United can bring live worship events to your ministry city.

Our mission is to bring His heart together...one Body, one Spirit, one Hope...to do so as a movement of ministries made up of wounded healers, bringing the healing of our God, to a world of broken lives.

As a result of this effort, by His calling, we reveal His good news that is already here, to a world that still needs to hear it - to spread that good news to all the earth. This is the heart, 'His heart, behind the great commission.

Not only is it imperative that we spread the gospel to this generation, but it’s crucial to foster a firm biblical foundation to help guide believers, old and new alike, in his/her respective faith journey.

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen (Matthew 28:18-20)!”

About Ellis Lucas:

“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song (a new purpose, a new passion which is, His Song Evangelistic Ministries) in my mouth—Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord (Psalm 40:1-3)!”

Smack dab in the middle of the Old Testament, it’s Psalm 40:1-3 that best encapsulates the polarizing and, ultimately, defining moment in the life of His Song Evangelistic Ministries Founder and President Ellis Lucas. Speaking of the transformation from a shattered life that was once broken beyond repair to a man reborn, filled with the Spirit, and now, committed to ministry through His Song Evangelistic Ministries, Ellis accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on March 6, 1997. Underscoring yet again how it was no ordinary transformation, his decision was on the heels of nearly losing his life (freedom) to a long prison sentence following a violent drug raid in North Kansas City, MO. Not surprisingly, that was an experience that shook Ellis to his very core, and that’s just one of the many reasons why his story can’t help but resonate. Although he never envisioned becoming an author, Ellis couldn’t help but share his redemption story in The Potter and the Clay.

A powerful, grace-filled account that’s anything but your typical snapshot of humanity’s shared experiences, it’s a gritty, real-life story of utter transformation. A riveting and transparent page-turner filled with love, a veritable mountain of loss, and eventually, sweet redemption, The Potter and the Clay also offers a powerful takeaway, namely that no matter how far someone feels from God or salvation; hope, change and, yes, total renewal are never out of reach.

“Through everything, broken relationships, addiction, spending time in jail, I began to understand how there is no human life beyond God’s infinite desire and passion to love and to know,” Ellis shares. “There’s also no situation, pain, sin or failure beyond His desire to forgive, heal and restore, if we are willing to humble ourselves beneath the mighty hand of God in true Biblical repentance (Acts 3:19), commit our ways to Him and trust Him throughout all the changing seasons of our lives.”

While growing up in a small, seemingly idyllic Midwest farming community, Ellis says he encountered authentic Christianity at a young age. His mother, the late Mary Jeanette Lucas, was in his words “an amazing woman” who was “radically in love with Jesus Christ and made that perfectly clear in everything she did.”

Living in a household guided by the words of Joshua 24:15, Ellis, the youngest of four children and his parents’ only son, saw a true example of someone who put others before herself and was truly transformed and renewed through her relationship with Jesus. In what’s a key moment in every believer’s life, however, the faith of his family eventually needed to become his own. And it wasn’t until after his beloved mother passed away that Ellis became “a true transformed believer in, and follower of, Jesus Christ.

“Without a doubt, my mother’s consistent devotion left an eternal impression upon my heart that ultimately prevailed, leading me straight into the safe and loving arms of Jesus at age thirty-five,” Ellis says. “I’m forever grateful to her for it! It was the memory of that persistent Christ-centered love lived out in her daily life that remained deeply embedded in my subconscious long after she was gone that somehow managed to transcend life and death, seasons of joy and pain, countless trials and difficult circumstances, including years of drug and alcohol abuse, anger, violence, depression, divorce, the loss of my three children, and then ultimately, complete hopelessness.”

“My life had been so completely destroyed that I’d come to believe there was absolutely no hope of ever changing, and all I had to look forward to was whatever awaited me beyond the grave—most likely judgment,” Ellis shares. “But while locked up in the Clay County Missouri Jail on March 6, 1997, at the end of life as I knew it, Jesus Christ stretched out His mighty hand of grace in what was nothing short of a Road to Tarsus encounter, lavished His mercy and grace on my former shattered life, and opened my eyes to an astonishing revelation. God loved me and had an amazing plan for my life if I would open my heart and receive Him that day.”

“I made the right choice, and my life was resurrected from death into eternal life. Then over the course of the next few years my life was completely healed and restored (Joel 2:25). Like Job; God has blessed the latter days of my life more than my beginning (Job 42:12), and I have been entrusted with a new, exciting purpose-filled life. I am walking in the works that God Himself foreordained for me to walk in from long before the foundations of the world were ever laid (Ephesians 2:10).

“In my younger days before knowing Jesus personally, I used to think; ‘If God is so good and has all the power and answers to change my life as everyone says He does—why is my life so painful and empty, yet full of hatred, violence, and rejection?”’ Ellis shares. “Where was He when I cried aloud and begged Him for His help? Where was this so-called great God and Savior when I needed Him?” What I didn’t know then and what breaks my heart so bad now is what my precious Lord and Savior had already done for me!”

“He was despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief,” Ellis continues. “And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely, He has bore our grief and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:3-5)!”

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns (Isaiah 52:7)!” Ellis says. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen (Ephesians 3:20-21)!”

Jesus Christ gave His life a ransom to pay a debt He did not owe; to pardon a debt we could never pay,” Ellis says. “And now, all who call upon the name of Jesus Christ will be saved (Romans 10:13)! If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10)!” And that’s a message I want the whole world to hear.”

“It is with great joy that I give my highest recommendation for this impactful book, The Potter and the Clay. This riveting story of a tragic life, countered by the faithfulness and love of God, serves as a life preserver for many who are sinking in the murky waters of hopelessness. Ellis’s story is raw, yet compelling; it reaches down to the gutter of human despair and rises to height of divine providence. In my opinion, the story of Ellis Lucas is a timely resource for healing and restoration for today’s lost and broken generation.”

Our Mission:

We at His Song Evangelism are dedicated to bringing God’s word of enlightenment and hope to people throughout the world. Through music and the preaching of God’s infallible word, we want to remind everyone that he or she is God’s unique workmanship. And through salvation and the regeneration of his/her life, God also has a meaningful and specific plan for each and everyone’s life. As evidenced by Ellis’s own spiritual journey, everyone is worthy of His love because of what Jesus Christ accomplished for them on the cross! He is calling each and every human to surrender to a purpose that He wants to fulfill in each and every life ever created.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk with them (Ephesians 2:10)!”

The Statistics

Statistics are showing a clear decline of Evangelical Christianity in the United States while we are simultaneously seeing the secularization of the church:

  • 53% of U.S. Christian leaders said the state of evangelism is in serious decline—far worse than it even was five years ago, and 48 percent anticipate these numbers growing worse in the next five years.

  • “The un-churched population in the United States is so extensive that, were it a nation, it would be the fifth-largest on the planet… Researchers and analysts describe North America as the world’s third-largest mission field.” — Navigators

  • Only 33% of mainline churchgoers agree that there are absolute standards for what is right and wrong.

  • Only 36% of Evangelical churchgoers believe that their religion is the one, true faith leading to eternal life while 57% believed many religions can lead to everlasting life.

  • 65% of 18-30 year olds who have previously attended church regularly have since left the church.

The Need for Salt and Light:

It is apparent that the need for true evangelism and discipleship that results in Biblical values and a Biblically-centered worldview are increasingly needed in our country. We believe right NOW is a critical time. The consequences of not reaching the next generation with the absolute truth of the gospel will be dire.

Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” This is the message that needs to be shared to the next generation to reverse the course of moral pragmatism that has become prevalent in our culture.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:13 that "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” Salt is a preservative, and it’s our responsibility to preserve the truth of the Gospel as well as the truth with regard to the consequences of sin.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.” Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

The Vision:

We organize outreach events across the United States, and we are also open to any other global opportunities that may become available. Our initial vision is to continue outreach in the United States, our home, and the place where we have current contacts, experience and opportunities. Our hope is that these events will lead to new opportunities in the United States and other countries across the globe.

We intend for these events to be held free of charge. A partnership with local churches in each city will be vital to effectively producing these events. We will rely upon them to help promote the event in their respective communities, help with fundraising efforts to make the events possible, provide counselors and follow-up with new believers. However, we are flexible and open to partnering with any Bible-believing church or organization that is willing to labor alongside of us in the Lord’s harvest regardless of their financial status. Our heart and vision has always been to strengthen and add to the local body of Christ through these outreach events, especially when dealing with new believers and financial stewardship.

The founder of His Song Evangelism, Ellis Lucas, has roughly 15 years of experience and has been a part of numerous large festivals, crusades, conferences, tours, etc. This wide range of experience has enabled us to produce powerful, life-changing events that have made an impact upon numerous lives, churches and other Christ-centered ministries.

Statement of Faith:

  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.

  • We believe that God is the sovereign creator of all things and is in complete control of all things at all times. “But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases (Psalm 115:3)!”

  • We believe that God is eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, rose on the third day and is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world and was raised again on the third day. He conquered death that we may be redeemed. If we repent of our sins and accept Him into our hearts, we are immediately born again, forgiven of our sins, filled with the Holy Spirit and destined to live an everlasting life with our Lord in heaven. “Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19)!”

  • We believe salvation is a personal choice. “He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:11-13)!”

  • We believe we are God’s workmanship (Poiema) and that he knew us before we were born, and that He does have a purpose for our life (Ephesians 2:10). “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them (Psalm 139:16)!”

  • We believe in holy Christian living (Romans 12:1-2).

  • We believe that we must have concerns for the hurts and social needs of our fellow men (James 2:15-17).

  • We believe in using every modern means of communication available to us to spread the Gospel message of Jesus Christ throughout the world to further “The Great Commission.”

We have dedicated our lives to the furthering of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but we cannot fulfill our calling without your help.

Together we are the body of Christ and while every member has a different role, each role is vitally important. We recognize that not everyone has the same gifting and abilities, but when we come together as the united Body of Christ we can accomplish amazing things.

When you support His Song Evangelistic Ministries with your tax-deductible financial gift, you are partnering with us to bring evangelism and discipleship to the next generation. In doing so, you become a part of fulfilling the great commission that Jesus called us to in Matthew 28:18-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” Join with us as we share God’s love, bringing truth and hope to a lost, broken and hurting generation.
